| Contemporary Stainless is for home chefs who place as much importance on cookware style as they do on performance. The sleek, modern vessels in this line have curvaceous and smooth flared tulip shapes that create a stunning presence while heating on a stovetop or hanging from a pot rack. The brushed steel exteriors are a beautiful complement to professional stainless-steel appliances and are less likely to show baked-on grease or wear than a polished finish. Gracefully curved stainless-steel handles are comfortable to clutch and stay cool on the stovetop for hours at a time. Glass covers are convenient for watching food cook and have curved handles plus wide-banded stainless-steel rims for durability. Heating in this 6-1/2-quart pot is sure to satisfy the performance requirements of discerning cooks. The pot boasts triple-layer construction with a stainless-steel interior and exterior bonded over a full aluminum core that extends up the sides as well as through the bottom. Aluminum is an excellent heat conductor, providing consistent heat for simmering soup, chili, or pasta. The stainless-steel pot is safe in the oven and can withstand broiler temperatures as well as the use of metal utensils. However, the tempered-glass lid is oven-safe only to 450 degrees F. The soup pot measures approximately 11 by 15 by 7 inches. All Contemporary Stainless is dishwasher-safe for quick cleanup and covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde From the Manufacturer As the kitchen becomes the social center of more and more American homes, consumers are focusing greater attention on the details of kitchen design. Its beauty is more than skin deep

| A friend says the stainless contemporary pots belong in MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and I agree: absolutely beautiful. On top of that, it performs wonderfully. Heat distribution and retention is just as good as the cast iron dutch oven I can no longer use on my glass-top range. This is a great size for soups and stews and a big "mess" of Southern-style green beans can simmer hour after hour with little moisture loss, thus no sticking. I intend to purchase more of this line. |
No more stovetop wobbling
|
| Review Date: February 28, 2008 |
| Reviewer: Diane Mack, |
| I bought this pot to replace an old copper-bottomed stainless steel soup pot that wobbled violently every time I boiled water in it on our new ceramic stovetop. I knew from the instructions that came with the appliance that some of my cooking utensils needed to be replaced, but I couldn't find what I needed in local stores at a reasonable price. I chose this pot because: (1)it was exactly the size I wanted; (2) the weight of the pot seemed to be sufficient that it would work well on my new stovetop; (3) it was within budget, though at the upper end of it; and (4)it had some good reviews already. Now that I've used it (once)I can state that it performs beautifully on a ceramic surface, it is heavy enough but not too heavy, and it is good-looking, too! |
An excellent water bath for flan

| This size, shape and depth made the souppot a better water bath for a flan in a casserole dish than shallower alternatives. I have also made beef stock from oxtail in this as it is large enough to accommodate larger pieces. I rub baking soda all over it to get all the tallow out of it. |
